Bought 36% of Barstool Sports Jan 2020, remainder Feb 2023, then sold Barstool back to Dave Portnoy for $1 in Aug 2023 (plus 50% of any future sale proceeds) coincident with the ESPN BET rebrand. ESPN terminated the licensing deal early in Nov 2025; ESPN then signed a new sports-betting partnership with DraftKings, and PENN's US sportsbook brand reverted toward theScore Bet.
