Sports (retail)LiveJan 31, 2023CompetitiveRetail sportsbooks launched at Encore Boston Harbor, MGM Springfield and Plainridge Park Casino on Jan 31, 2023. Raynham Park's separate Category 2 retail sports-wagering license application (as a licensed racing/simulcast facility, not a slots license) remains pending: the MGC paused it in 2023 pending a sportsbook-operator partner after Caesars withdrew, and the commission's financial-suitability review was still underway as of a Feb. 2025 meeting (minutes dated 2.24.25); no later MGC action or final suitability decision was identified in this research pass, so Raynham's application status should be treated as unresolved/pending rather than approved or denied.
